Christmas Shopping Event

November 18, 2019

We all had so much fun at our 3rd Annual Christmas Shopping Day at Pearl & Pine Retirement.  Cookies, door prizes and so many different vendors to shop with, there was something for everyone to enjoy!  Residents, their families, our staff and even some members of the community came to enjoy the day with us!

Have you met Joseph Tassoni?  Joseph is opening his Holiday Headquarters in the ground floor retail space at the corner of Pearl Street and Pine Street.  Joseph Tassoni prides himself on his Made in Canada purpose, culminating gorgeous design and locally sourced materials.  As the space is still under construction, Joseph set up with a parka display and sold beautiful Lemon Cypress Trees adorning materials from his runway designs!  These trees smell divine!  His mom came to support him and he loved getting to meet the residents, and even some of our furry friends!

In the lobby we also had a favourite Pearl & Pine vendor – Jane from Purdy’s!  Who doesn’t love a table full of delicious chocolate, from Hedgehogs to Truffles and even beautiful Advent Calendars, Jane had something to meet every shopper’s sweet tooth!

Makeover anyone?  Betty enjoyed a fresh new beauty look with Lianna from Beauty Counter!  Beauty Counter offers a wide selection of skin care and make-up products, all made from natural products!  Ask Betty – they feel great on her face and made her look gorgeous too!

In the Fitness Centre we set up a number of Vendors and had  a flurry of people in and out of the space!

Deb was here from Pampered Chef selling her amazing cooking tools and Margo was here from Epicure selling all the spices you might need to use those Pampered Chef tools!

Have you ever tried Shanny’s Shortbread?   Oh my goodness, you must!  Ed brought full size cookies and bite size nibbles as well in flavours ranging from Pumpkin Spice, to Chocolate Chip and the always popular, festive Holiday Vanilla.  Shanny’s Shortbread is always a hit with both residents and staff at Pearl & Pine!

Shannon Brown from Thirty-One gifts had a table full of gift giving ideas for every person on your list!  Wooden trays, storage totes, adorable handbags….and so many items can be personalized for that special person on your shopping list!  Monogram, #hashtag, or simply a name and icon, there are so many different ways to personalize a gift from Thirty-One!

Shannon brought her daughter who was celebrating her 10th birthday!  This girl is an amazing little sales lady!  Hope you had a great birthday dinner out!

Liz brought her Scentsy products for our residents!  No open flames in this building, so warming a delicious smelling scent over a lightbulb is a great alternative!  Room sprays, and car air fresheners adorned her table as well as her Voxx Wellness socks.

Stella & Dot….who doesn’t love a little sparkle?  So many great choices shopping with Stella & Dot, including gorgeous necklaces, rings and bracelets, funky earrings, warm and fashionable scarves, cute tops and functional bags for weekends away!  Perhaps if we purchase a new bag we need to book some time off for travel….hmmmm!

At the back of the building Lisa from Sweet Legs was helping our residents find the perfect fit and perfect pattern!  So many to choose from though….it’s always a tough decision!  To go fun and funky or simple and elegant?  There’s a size and pattern for everyone!

Three other retailers that rent space in our building were featured on Saturday.

Go Float, float tank studio set up an information table in the lobby.  Geoffrey took the time to introduce residents and their families to the holistic benefits of floating in salt water.  It’s such a fascinating concept and we keep hearing how well it works!

Bodega kept their doors open and invited everyone in to learn more about CBD oils, their uses, benefits and more.  They also sell beautiful houseplants and natural cleaners.
